Overall History: Born in Godric's Hollow, Harry lived with his parents for only the span of over a year before they were discovered and murdered by Lord Voldemort, with Harry only surviving with a scar across his forehead. From there he went into the uncaring hands of his aunt and uncle, who begrudgingly took him in. From there he lived in the cupboard under the stairs in the Dursley home until he was eleven, when he received his letter of acceptance from Hogwarts after numerous attempts, courtesy of Rubeus Hagrid. Shortly before this, he demonstrated his ability to use magic when he caused the window keeping a Burmese Python in its cage to disappear after being pushed away from the window by Dudley. Attending Hogwarts, Harry was sorted into Gryffindor after a brief conversation with the Sorting Hat, joining Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, both of whom he met on the train to the school. Throughout the year, he had frequent clashes with Draco Malfoy and the Head of Slytherin House Severus Snape. Harry joined the Quidditch Team for Gryffindor as a result of a clash with Malfoy following an injury to housemate Neville Longbottom. During the end of the first year, he had his second clash with Voldemort, this time through Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Quirrel, who had allowed Voldemort to possess him. The battle, waged over the Sorcerer's Stone, ended when Harry discovered that Quirrel could not handle Harry touching him directly due to the possession by Voldemort. The Stone was then destroyed after this battle.
Before the start of his second year, Harry was nearly impeded by a house-elf named Dobby, which led to him being rescued by Ron, George, and Fred Weasley. In his second year, Harry again had clashes with Malfoy, this time including a face-off in Quidditch with Harry being injured from a rogue bludger caused by Dobby. This was incorrectly healed initially by Gilderoy Lockhart, the 2nd professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts during Harry's school years. During the year, there was also chaos caused by the opening of the Chamber of Secrets, which led to the release of a Basilisk, which had caused the school to suffer some fifty years prior and was used as a way to get Hagrid expelled due to the spider Aragog that Hagrid was raising. Harry soon entered the Chamber due to Ron's sister Ginny entering under the control of Tom Riddle, who had attempted to return, with Riddle revealing himself as Voldemort. Harry's subsequent battle with the Basilisk ended following assistance by Fawkes, the pet Phoenix of Albus Dumbledore. Harry nearly suffered death until saved by the tears of Fawkes.
Before year three, Harry found himself having to leave the safety of the Dursley home following the inflation of his "aunt" Marge after she insults his parents. Harry was then warned after meeting up with the Weasleys at the Leaky Cauldron that he was possibly being hunted by Sirius Black, the one who was thought to have betrayed Harry and his parents. It wasn't until the end of the year when they discovered that it was actually Peter Pettigrew who betrayed them, not Sirius. Pettigrew, who had disguised himself as the rat Scabbers, managed to escape during Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Remus Lupin's werewolf transformation. Sirius was captured, but thanks to a Time Turner in Hermione's possession, they rescued Sirius through a Hippogriff named Buckbeak, a pet of Hagrid's who was set to be executed before being saved by Harry and Hermione.
Prior to year four, Harry went to the Quidditch World Cup finals between Ireland and Bulgaria, a game won by Ireland. Death Eaters attacked following the match, which saw the Dark Mark appear in the sky for the first time in years. During fourth year, Harry was unwittingly entered into the Triwizard Tournament as its fourth entrant, sharing the Hogwarts Entrant slot with Hufflepuff Cedric Diggory. Diggory later died at the end of the third and final task, just prior to the return of Voldemort through a dark ritual, which gained Voldemort the ability to touch Harry without harm. Before year five, Harry endured numerous difficulties due to the disbelief of the Wizarding World at large that Voldemort was back. Harry also went on trial after rescuing himself and his cousin from a rogue Dementor, leading to doubt in the minds of the Ministry. Harry then went through his fifth year, completing his O.W.L.S despite difficulties caused by Delores Umbridge, the fifth Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at the time. This came to a conclusion during a raid on the Department of Mysteries by Harry and members of Dumbledore's Army, a group Harry trained personally in actual Defense Against the Dark Arts. The raid resulted in the death of Sirius Black and the full acknowledgement of Voldemort's return by the Ministry.
Sixth year saw Harry travel with Dumbledore to learn about Voldemort's past as well as take on something known as Horcruxes, of which the Diary of Tom Riddle was one. Dumbledore destroyed a second one, albeit at great injury, and their quest to find the third led to Dumbledore being weakened. Harry then lay witness as Snape killed Dumbledore, unaware at the time of that being Dumbledore's plan. Following the death of his mentor, Harry rushed to attack Snape, believing him a traitor. This was thwarted with Snape escaping and the Wizarding World going into mourning over Dumbledore's death. Following his sixth year, Harry began hunting the remaining Horcruxes alongside Ron and Hermione, a journey expedited by a raid on the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour by a Voldemort-controlled Ministry. Through different troubles during the quest, including their capture by Bellatrix Lestrange, and the death of Dobby, the trio returned to Hogwarts just prior to what proved to be the last battle against Voldemort. During the battle, Harry witnessed the death of Fred Weasley and Lavender Brown, as well as later learning of the deaths of Remus and "Tonks" Lupin. He also witnessed the death of Severus Snape, who then revealed his true allegiance to Harry at the end through memories that Harry later used with Dumbledore's Pensive. Harry, upon the destructing of all but two of the Horcruxes, went out to face Voldemort himself as one of the last two Horcruxes, resulting in a momentary death where Harry chose to live on after a final meeting with Dumbledore. Following this, Harry resumed his battle against Voldemort after Voldemort threatened Molly Weasley, having stayed hidden from view and feigning death through his invisibility cloak, one of three Deathly Hallows alongside the Elder Wand which he won in a duel against Malfoy, and the resurrection stone, which lets the user see ghostly forms of loved ones. Harry won against Voldemort following the death of the only other remaining Horcrux, Nagini.
At the conclusion of the war, Harry mourned the loss of friends and loved ones who had died, before joining the Auror department alongside Ron, revolutionizing the entire department. At age twenty seven, he became the youngest Head Auror, later being featured on a Chocolate Frog card for his accomplishments. He also took care of his godson, Ted Lupin. By 2017, he had married Ginny Weasley and became father to James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lilly Luna Potter, all three of which now attend Hogwarts. He also made occasional trips to Hogwarts as a guest speaker on Defense Against the Dark Arts.
